It turns out there are some strong correlations between the beer people choose to drink and the party they identify with as well as their likelihood of going to the polls this November.
At first the selections seem random, but then a couple things start to stand out:
Did you notice that the majority of light beer generally resides on the Republican side? I guess the calls for “belt tightening” in Washington extend into happy hour.
Another thing to note is that the more niche brands including micro-brews correlate strongly with high turnout. I suppose that makes sense. After all, if you find it worthwhile to consider the entire beer spectrum before you make a purchase, you probably don’t take an apathetic approach to who the leader of the free world should be.
